What Happened
Apple has officially launched a new wave of developer betas following the recent public release of the 27.2 operating system updates. According to AppleInsider, the company concluded its previous developer beta process in late October. Now, a fresh testing round has begun for platforms including iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, visionOS, tvOS, and HomePod Software.
Details and Features
While AppleInsider notes that it was initially unclear what the updates would contain at this early stage, iClarified reports that the new builds introduce several specific features and regional rollouts. Both iOS 27.3 and iPadOS 27.3 arrive with build number 24C5037i, while HomePod Software 27.3 beta 1 carries build number 24K5286g. Additionally, Apple has introduced two update release candidates for older macOS versions.
According to iClarified, iOS 27.3 is set to bring Apple Intelligence to China in December, though this initial rollout is limited to the iPhone and will exclude Siri AI and next-generation features from WWDC 2026. The beta also restores the redesigned Health app featuring an Insights tab, Health Age, at-home movement evaluations, and expanded language support.
Additional features noted by iClarified include:
- Safari: Gains Vertical Tabs, Adaptive Dark Mode, and new Siri controls.
- Fitness+: Adds personalized Gym Strength plans.
- iPhone Duo: Receives horizontal Reachability for one-handed outer display use.
- Siri AI: Opens app integrations to all developers via a testing preview, though third-party integrations remain restricted to development-signed builds and internal TestFlight testing ahead of spring 2027 App Store submissions.
Availability and Installation
The new software can be downloaded from the Apple Developer Center, as reported by iClarified. Developers whose devices are already opted-in can also get the updates over the air by navigating to Settings, selecting General, then Software Update, and choosing Developer Beta under Beta Updates. Public beta versions are not yet available.
